Some projects stay with you—etched into your memory, not just because of the work, but because of who you shared it with. My final semester of college was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life, and it was made unforgettable by three extraordinary people: Indiya Roberts, Liz Czech, and Gracie Bloom. Not just talented designers, but people with so much heart, empathy, and strength.
When the opportunity came to propose a concept for our senior graphic design exhibition, it felt almost inevitable that the four of us would do it together. We had already built a rhythm, having worked on projects earlier that semester. We knew each other’s strengths, supported each other’s weak spots, and had a shared understanding that went deeper than just teamwork.
Winning that proposal was the moment everything started to unfold. From there, we dove headfirst into the work—navigating pressure, deadlines, creative blocks, and personal stress. It wasn’t easy. It asked everything of us. But it was beautiful. I got to witness my peers truly blossom—each of them stepping into their own light, pushing themselves, lifting each other up. It wasn’t just about design. It was about trust, about growth, about knowing that we could lean on one another when it got hard. And when I look back, what I remember most isn’t the final product—it’s the journey, the laughter. We lived off energy drinks, pulled countless late nights, and got kicked out by security more times than I can count for being the last ones in the student center. Hours flew by with our Spotify jams blasting—and yes, I had to queue Alvin and the Chipmunks. Every single time.
I couldn’t have been prouder.
Truly, I have so much love for these gals! I wish them all the very best. I’m sure it’s not the last project we’ll work on together…
