At City Church, we like to say, “We don’t retreat, we Advance.” It’s more than a phrase—it’s a posture. These nights are some of the most powerful gatherings we have. They aren’t just events; they’re moments of momentum, where we come together to be reminded of who we are and where we’re going as a church family. Advancing takes intention. It takes people who are willing to set aside their schedules, show up, and pour into each other. It’s in these moments—standing side by side in worship, sharing stories, praying together—that strength is built. Not just individual strength, but unity. You feel it in the room: the sense that we’re not just attending church, we’re being the church. These nights are a reminder that progress doesn’t come from striving alone—it comes from stepping forward together, shoulder to shoulder, trusting God and lifting each other up along the way.

When I arrived, Advance didn’t have any established branding—it was a blank slate. I saw that as an opportunity to build something strong and intentional from the ground up. Creating a solid foundation was essential, not just for aesthetics, but for identity. The goal was to craft visuals that reflected the bold, forward-moving spirit of the gatherings. Every choice, from typography to color, was made to support that momentum and give Advance the clarity and presence it deserved.
