IN A GALAXY FAR, FAR AWAY...
My adoration for the galaxy “far, far away” began as a boy. I’ll never forget my first reaction to Darth Vader on a Mickey Mouse TV cassette that my older cousin owned. The jaw-dropping spectacle of a Star Destroyer swallowing the screen with its menacing size impressed me. The lightsaber battles I enacted with my friends growing up stemmed from the duels of Anakin and Obi-Wan on Mustafar. Now, I find myself reading the brilliant novels by Timothy Zawn and Claudia Gray. There’s a kiddish side of me I can always revisit. Found in the royalty of Coruscant, the greenery of Endor, and the brutality of Tatooine. This publication has different styles of design. My approach was to flex my design muscles by experimenting with something new for each article.
This publication embraces a dynamic design approach, intentionally shifting from one style to another as you move through its pages. Each article is complemented by a design that mirrors its mood and tone, creating a more immersive reading experience. The design evolves with each section from soft, whimsical illustrations to the stark contrast of harsh, dramatic photography that commands attention. Bold typography amplifies the content’s message, adding an extra layer of expression. This fluid design language not only supports the narrative of each article but also reflects the diversity of emotions and themes explored within the publication. The result is a visually engaging journey that adapts to the rhythm of the content, offering readers a fresh and thoughtful visual experience with every turn of the page.
