CITY CHICKS
CONFERENCE/SPECIAL EVENT
At City Church, women aren’t just included—they’re essential. They lead with boldness, grace, and so much heart, and from day one, that’s been something I’ve deeply admired. My very first assignment on the design team was for City Chicks, and honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better way to start. I grew up surrounded by strong, inspiring women—my grandmother, my aunts, the women at my church—so getting to design for a night that celebrated and empowered women felt incredibly personal. That evening, the room was full of laughter, hugs, and the kind of warmth that only comes when women gather with purpose. And when Pastor Alli Munsey shared her message, you could feel the atmosphere shift—words of truth, courage, and calling filled the space. To have played even a small part in making that night beautiful and memorable through design was an honor I’ll never forget.
Everything about that night was intentionally crafted—from the photoshoots to the merch, down to the floral arrangements that greeted you at the door. There was a clear vision, and it showed. I had the joy of contributing to the visual direction, focusing on the color palette and typefaces provided by our Creative Director. It was my job to help bring that vision to life, to make sure everything felt cohesive, exciting, and true to the heart of the night. The theme was "Stay the Course"—rooted in imagery of racetracks and endurance. That idea of pressing on, even when it’s tough, really resonated with me. Seeing it all come together in the final experience—hearing the message, watching women show up and feel seen—was a beautiful reminder of why design matters. It tells the story before a single word is spoken.
